Stern Palace
Hungarian folk embroidery, carved in stone
Palatul Stern
Built for Miklós Stern in the first decade of the 1900s on Oradea's grand Republicii Street, this palace translates Hungarian folk art into architecture: embroidered-looking bands around the windows, floral friezes under the rounded corner and peacock-tail ironwork on its doors. Most sources credit Komor & Jakab, the architects of the Black Eagle.
- Built: 1904–1909
- Architect: Marcell Komor & Dezső Jakab
- Style: Secession
